Computer woe. The machine I use for printing / burning the CDs available in the shop has had to be returned to the manufacturer with a fault, this means any orders placed will be delayed until the computer is returned. I would hope to resume normal service within at most two weeks.

I am impressed...
This album totally gets me. Warm piano loops, a drony atmosphere harmonically simple and complex at the same time.
Marcel Türkowsky gradually folds in additional layers and hints of counterpoint, from organ-like chords, soft longing tones, and an assortment of fine tape noise. The deep basses, the concret fieldrecordings, the organ sounds are magnified emotionally through careful arrangement.
Each individual piece of sound on Türkowsky's Night Tapes is carefully placed to maximize impact. The whole piece De Dodu consists of of mixture of different fieldrecordings, rain, moving devices in the wind suddenly.
One guitar playing streetmusician stopping the cloud of organs, that appeared before hugging the noise of the rain.
It is completely overwhelming, never failing to produce any boring time for me. Indeed a sense of the subconscious, its melodic progression and flow involves the listener more and more. I feel that I get peacefully hypnotized. With knowing that Türkowsky's Night Tapes was made after dark i guess he must have felt the same.
I hear the the minimalist influences of Terry Riley, Steve Reich, Jim O`Rourke, Charlemagne Palestine on Night Tapes, and i am curious what this young soundartist and composer will show us in the future. I would love to listen to it on vinyl one day, i would play it all night.
Marcel Türkowsky also playes in Kinn with F.S Blumm, (i found out recently). They made a very nice self titled record in 2003, i wonder what the new one will be, it is released just in this moment on audio dregs.
Well I love the Night Tapes.
